Explore the core
You can find a lot of things in Magento core files. You can extend and modify them via custom modules. When you depend on standards used in the core you will always write code in the newest standards submitted in Magento. The core has a lot of files, so you need to use some powerful IDE for quickly search for what you want to view.
Make custom modules
The module is a Magento extension. You can find on the Internet some free and paid modules, you can use them as ideas to make your custom modules and learn something new.
Don’t give up!
If you have some error, something not working, try to google it. Maybe someone had the same error. Take a break, don’t stress, sit to the problem when you ready. Probably it is some typo or just cached file ?
The hardest part is the first step. So don’t wait anymore and start learning now! Good luck!
